Massive waves caused quite a scene on Folly Beach Thursday afternoon when a small sail boat got caught up in the waves and crashed into the pier. Evening update for Thursday Sept. 2nd 2010
Good evening, Earl has now passed us well off shore and has brought us large surf along with rip currents. Earl will move rapidly tonight to the north and northeast into Friday. Tonight look for winds to calm down to 5-10 mph after midnight out of the west. Friday will see an increase in heat as highs will build into the middle to upper 90s with plenty of sunshine. Overnight lows in the low 70s. Your Labor day weekend will see partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies and highs in the upper 80s to around 90. Overnight lows in the middle to upper 60s.
