Woman found shot, dead downtown

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Investigators with the Charleston Police Department are looking into a murder that happened at around 2 a.m. Sunday morning in the northern portion of the Charleston peninsula.

According to the Charleston County Coroner's Office, 59-year-old Robin Williams of Bennettsville, S.C. died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officials say they found her body behind a home currently under renovation on Romney Street.

A spokesman for the police department said someone called the department about a shooting and when officers responded, they found the body.

At this time no motive or suspect/suspects have been named in this case.
