THE ILLINOIS RIVER NEAR TAHLEQUAH
* UNTIL LATE THURSDAY NIGHT...OR UNTIL THE ADVISORY IS CANCELLED.
* AT 800 PM WEDNESDAY THE STAGE WAS 9.6 FEET.
* ACTION STAGE IS 9.0 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 11.0 FEET.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL RISE TO NEAR 10.4 FEET BY THURSDAY
MORNING...WHICH IS BELOW FLOOD STAGE.
* IMPACT...AT 11.0 FEET...MINOR FLOODING OCCURS FROM CHEWEY BRIDGE
DOWNSTREAM TOWARDS TAHLEQUAH. FLOATING THE RIVER IS TOO HAZARDOUS
DUE TO STRONG TURBULENCE.

On Sunday night a tornado went through the town of Carney. It destroyed or damaged about 40 homes. When you look out at the area there are homes in every direction that show some kind of damage. Some of the families that have lived there for 17 years and have never been through anything like this. They didn't even have enough time to get their family in the shelter.
