College of
Charleston students hit the road to take part in a massive rally
Louisiana in support of the Jena six.
The racially charged case has divided the small town of Jena.
The case is drawing people from across the country and this area as well.

The
college of
Charleston students left the city will one goal in mind; to make their voices heard.
They packed light, only about a day worth of clothes, their destination is 870 miles away in the town of Jena.
Ambria Justice is heading up the group.
She says students need to make their presence felt, ”we as college students, motivated adults, educated students need to step up, get involved a say it's wrong what they are going in Jena.”
Justice says this case is an example of the nation’s flawed legal system. “It's a clear cut case of how our justice system in unequal,” Justice said.
At the center of this case, six black teenagers who beat up a white classmate, one originally faced an attempted murder charge that was later reduced.
Critics of the case say the charges were unfair.
Justice says it's a sign racial oppression still exists, 47 years after the civil rights movement.
“We have made strides but still we have a ways to go,” Justice said.
The rally in support of the Jena six will be attended by high profile civil rights leaders.
Justice says it's the lesser known people who make the biggest difference.
“You also have the thousands of unspoken people who you will never learn their names, it's not written down in history books,” Justice said.
The students say some penalty needs to be handed down; all they ask is the punishment fit the crime.
The rally in Jena is scheduled for
eight o'clock Thursday morning.
