Megan Healey

Megan Healey Megan Healey

Megan joined the abc27 News Team in October 2008 as the first reporter assigned to the station's Chambersburg Newsroom. After two years covering Franklin and Cumberland counties, she made the move to Harrisburg, where she now anchors the weekend evening newscasts and reports during the week.

Megan began her on-air career an hour down the road as a reporter at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, MD. Prior to coming there, she learned the ins and outs of local news as an associate producer at WJZ-TV in Baltimore.

The Upstate New York native graduated Cum Laude from Cornell University in 2005 with a B.S. in Communications, and a concentration in Government. Megan also played midfield for the Big Red women's soccer team. She attributes much of her tenacity as a reporter in the field to her intense training as a Division I athlete!

In 2010, Megan was nominated for a regional Emmy award for her story "Life Without Limbs," which chronicled a local boy who is beating the odds without the use of his arms or legs.

In her spare time, Megan enjoys reading, trying new restaurants and spending time with her two rescue dogs. She also coaches girls soccer in the Chambersburg area (go Phantoms and Cheetahs), and is a member of the Harrisburg Social Media Club. She is always excited to hear from viewers with feedback or story ideas, so keep those emails coming! You can also find Megan on Facebook and follow her on Twitter: @MeganHealey.
