Tom Crawford is a member of the Meteorological Society. He has been awarded the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and was recognized as South Carolina's Best Weathercaster in 1998 and 1999 by the Associated Press.

Before becoming a meteorologist, Tom worked Charleston's Naval Shipyard. He is a Vietnam era and Persian Gulf veteran and retired from the Air Force Reserves after 33 years of service.
Tom loves the Lowcountry and he wouldn't live anyplace else. Off-air Tom enjoys biking, surfing, walking, weightlifting and spending time outdoors with his two sons.
Tom is also a certified licensed auctioneer by the state of South Carolina and North Carolina and is a benefit auctioneer specialist.
Less than 1 percent of all auctioneers in the country have the BAS designate. Tom gives back to the community by conducting more than 30 auctions a year for charity and not for profit organizations.
