ROCK HILL, S.C. (WCIV) -- On Sunday morning SLED issued an Amber Alert for a child that went missing Saturday night in northern South Carolina.

A short time later police said 2-year-old Zaylen Carlik White was found in Aiken County, unharmed, and his father, 28-year-old Carl Eugene White was arrested.

Investigators say the father and son were seen leaving a home on Hyacinthia Lane in Rock Hill shortly before midnight on Saturday. This came after White reportedly left the area during an investigation into the death of Zaylen's mother, 25-year-old Shrece Robinson. Police say Robinson was shot and killed around 11:45 Saturday night on Robinson Street, and White was the only witness to the murder.

On Sunday morning, Rock Hill police issued an Amber Alert and asked for help locating a black Ford Expedition SUV that White had borrowed from a friend, and was driving in an unknown direction.

According to police, Aiken County deputies pulled White over as he was driving on I-20 heading towards Georgia around 9 a.m.

"The Amber Alert system is a great tool for police to find a missing child quickly, before they are put in any critical danger," said Lt. Brad Redfearn of the Rock Hill Police Department.

At this time police say White is not a suspect in Robinson's death.  He is being charged with DUI and child endangerment, and Zaylen is being turned over to DSS.
