One person killed in accident on Highway 52

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person is pronounced dead at the scene of an accident Saturday morning near Goose Creek.

According to the SC Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:30 when a Toyota pickup truck pulled out in front of a Mazda protege at the intersection of new and old Highway 52.

The Coroner's Office says a passenger in the Mazda was killed. Their name is being withheld pending notification of their family.

This accident remains under investigation by the Berkeley County Coroners Office and the Highway Patrol.

No charges have been filed at this time.
