Rain chances every day for the next week

Steamy with showers and thunderstorms

An unsettled weather pattern has set up in the Lowcountry keeping it soggy at times with showers and thunderstorms likely for the next week or so.  In addition to the rain chances it will be extremely steamy with highs headed for the lower and mid 90s each afternoon, and high humidity levels.  It is not going to rain at any given location in the Lowcountry every day, but there surely will be showers and thunderstorms in the area each day.  These thunderstorms have been very slow moving putting down torrential amounts of rain in a very short period of time.  The thunderstorms will also be producers of frequent cloud to ground lightning strikes.  It is best to remain indoors until these thunderstorms pass by or dissipate.  The threat for severe weather in terms of gusty winds and hail will remain very, very low.

Tropical Depression Two has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, it is about 1110 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.  The storm has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is moving to the west at about 16 mph.  The storm is not forecast to strengthen much if any over the next few days, and is expected to continue moving quickly to the west or west-northwest.  Elsewhere in the tropics, things remain quiet.

Tuesday Tides:

H: 5:04am        L: 11:12am
