BRANCHVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Authorities arrested an Orangeburg County couple and seized nearly $170,000 in marijuana last week.
According to the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office, Sophia Koger, 46, and Roosevelt Mack, 43, were arrested at their home on Lincoln Street in Branchville. Deputies say $32,000 worth of marijuana plants were found at the home. Koger and Mack were both charged with possession with intent to distribute, and each of them was released on $10,000 PR bonds.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office says pot was also seized at three other locations thanks to a collaborative law enforcement effort.
Those locations include:
$14,000 in marijuana plants were located and seized in a wooded area at Cannon Bridge Road and Hudson Road.
$16,000 in marijuana plants were located and seized behind the residence at 1761 Hudson Road, Cope.
$102,000 in marijuana plants were located and seized in a wooded area off Sheran Drive, Cope.
Sheriff Ravenell says his goal is to locate and remove drugs "before they reach the streets of this county."
