RUFFIN, S.C. (WCIV) -- The funeral service for a Lowcountry solider killed in Afghanistan will be held Thursday.

The memorial service for Sergeant First Class Alvin Boatwright will be held at noon at Ruffin Middle School (the old Ruffin High School).  The service is open to the public.

The Department of Defense announced that Boatwright, along with three others, died from injuries suffered during a vehicle roll-over on June 18.

The soliders were remembered by other soldiers in Afghanistan with a memorial on June 23.

SFC Boatwright was 33-years-old.  He was from Lodge, South Carolina.
