Breaking Record Heat

Posted: Updated:

Man it's hot outside. An there doesn't seem to be any real relief insight! Oklahoma has been experiencing extremely hot weather and little rainfall this summer. On average, Green Country experiences 11.4 days each year where temperatures are at or above 100 degrees. So far this summer, we have had 30 days where temperatures were at or above 100 degrees! Only 5 days in July had temperatures below the 100 degree mark. And on top of that, parts of the metro area have a chance to experience record daytime highs this week. The highest recorded temperature in Tulsa is 115 degrees. That record was set on August 10th, 1936. Some areas this week have the potential to reach that record mark!

So stay cool and make sure you drink plenty of water this week. It's going to be another hot one!
