Jeannie Flitner joined the abc27 news team in March of 2011, but she is no stranger to the station. Jeannie is thrilled to be continuing her journalism career at the station that inspired her to pursue broadcasting.
In 2006, Jeannie was a news and sports intern for the station while attending Shippensburg University. While shadowing anchors and reporters from the station, she learned the importance of showing compassion while reporting stories, in addition to getting the facts straight.
Those skills helped her earn her bachelor's degree in communication/journalism. She graduated with honors in the spring of 2008, and began her career in Maryland where she started as a reporter, and eventually was a full-time anchor.
Jeannie is no stranger to the Keystone State. She was raised in Chester County and loves exploring new parts of the state.
A former pre-professionally trained ballerina, Jeannie continues her passion for dance by taking classes and enjoying local performances. She also enjoys jogging with her four-legged running partner, and going for bike rides.
Jeannie is excited to rejoin the midstate community, and welcomes story ideas anytime!
