Lowcountry Leisure: By Ashley Lindquist

It's a weekend the Lowcountry looks forward to every year. Hootie and the Blowfish returns to its roots to take over Daniel Island Friday and Saturday for the annual Homegrown Roundup.

The fun starts Friday night when Toad and Wet Sprocket take the stage at Family Circle Cup Stadium at 7, followed by Hootie and the Blowfish at 8:30.

Plan to spend most of the afternoon at the stadium Saturday because festivities kick off at 1 p.m. on the Grand Lawn. In addition to food and live music from Kemp Ridley, Crowfield and Ken Block and Andrew Copeland of Sister Hazel, there's a Kid's Zone complete with a jump castle, corn hole, face painting and stations by Bottles n' Brushes and Nikki Leigh Spa.

Take a little down time between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., and get geared up for Foster and Lloyd at 7 and Hootie and the Blowfish at 8:30.

If you don't have your tickets yet, it's not too late. There are still seats available for Friday's show, but you better act fast. This is a weekend that keeps fans coming back year after year.

The concert benefits schools throughout the Lowcountry and surrounding areas.
