Beer, wine and Lowcountry cuisine- and it's all for a good cause. Now that I have your attention, mark your calendars for the Lowcountry Wine & Beer Festival at Freshfields Village on Sunday.

Ticket holders can sample more than 20 wines from around the world, a wide selection of craft beers and a Lowcountry buffet fresh from Heges Restaurant. A silent auction boasts an African safari and a condo at Seabrook as the top items up for bid. Bring your blankets and listen to the sweet sounds of live jazz on the Green by the Cobblestone Quartet.

The festival runs from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and can be purchased at the following locations:

-James Island: Hyams Garden and Accent Store, Paul's Hairstyling, Forsberg's Wine and Spirits

-Johns Island: The UPS Store, Schoen Ace Hardware

-Freshfields Village: Guest Services, Indigo Books

-Seabrook Island: Seabrook Island Real Estate

   -Kiawah Island: Town Hall

All proceeds benefit Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic, a non-profit providing free medical care to those on Johns, James and Wadmalaw islands since 2008.
