Citadel marking 9/11 with 2 events on campus

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The Citadel is holding two commemorations to mark the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks.

A memorial service is scheduled Friday at the college's Summerall Chapel.

On Sunday, the Corps of Cadets will gather on the parade ground to reflect on the anniversary and the lives that were lost. During that ceremony, The Citadel Regimental Band and Pipes will echo Taps and there will be brief remarks and a prayer for the nation.

Since the 9/11 attacks a decade ago, 15 Citadel graduates serving in the military have died in the war on terror.
