CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Charleston business owner has been arrested and charged with criminal sexual conduct in the investigation of a June rape.

According to an affidavit there is probable cause to believe Osama "Sam" Mustafa raped a 30-year-old woman on his boat, "The Southern Lady."

Charleston Police Department spokesman Charles Francis said Mustafa turned himself over to authorities on Monday. A warrant was issued for Mustafa's arrest on Thursday, October 13.

Mustafa is the founder of the Charleston Hospitality Group and the owner of several businesses in the Lowcountry that include but aren't limited to Charleston Limo Service, Tabbuli Grill, Market Street Saloon and Toast.

According to the affidavit, the woman said she was on Mustafa's boat, which was in the area of Morris Island, when he grabbed her and threw her onto a bed in a cabin. The woman told police he then forcibly removed her bikini bottoms, shoved her knees to her chest and forced intercourse. The woman said she yelled at Mustafa and begged him to stop.

Later that evening, according to the affidavit, the woman was taken to MUSC, where she received a sexual assault examination that showed signs of forced intercourse.
