Where to find the candy: Trick-or-treating in the Lowcountry

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- Ghosts and goblins will be roaming the streets looking to satisfy their sweet tooth. Here's where and when you can go for the goodies!

Trick or Treat in the Park

The City of Charleston kicks off the quest for candy on Friday October 28th.  Hampton Park will be packed with parked vehicles decorated in Halloween themes. Children 12 and under are invited to come out in costume and enjoy jump castle, a costume contest, face painting, hay rides, games & prizes and of course, candy!

The fun starts at 4pm and lasts until 6pm. Admission is free and if it rains, the treats will be transported to the Arthur Christopher Community Center.

Towne Centre in Mount Pleasant will also be celebrating Halloween early with Trick-or-Treat for a Cure. Stores marked with balloons will be handing out candy and kids will also find horse drawn hayrides, face painting, and balloon art.

Pets can also get into the act with the Pet Helpers Pet Costume Contest at the movie theatre. Registration is at noon and the contest begins at 1pm.

The fun starts at Noon on Oct. 29th and runs until 4pm.

Northwoods and Citadel Malls are also getting into the Halloween spirit by holding their own trick-or-treat events. From 6pm until 8pm (or until the treats runs out), participating stores will be handing out candy to the costumed.

And for the first time ever, Tanger Outlet is inviting little ghouls to Trick-or-Treat Tanger Style. Participating stores will be handing out candy from 5pm until 7pm.

Or you can keep it close to home.

If you'd rather haunt your own 'hood, most of you won't have to worry about the time creeping away from you. None of the townships have set special trick-or-treat hours this year except for one. Moncks Corner has designated 6pm to 8pm as the haunting hours for their community.

No tricks here, please, just treats!

As in years past, the city of Folly Beach has forgone the trick-or-treat tradition for their Halloween Carnival. It will be held at the Folly River Park on Center St. from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Halloween night.
