Memorial service set for cadet as officials keep watch

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A memorial service will be held Thursday at The Citadel for missing cadet Joshua Edwards, at the request of his family.

However, local law enforcement, including Folly Beach Police and the Coast Guard say they're still on the lookout for the 21-year-old from Greer, S.C.

Citadel President Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa spoke to the Corps of Cadets today about Edwards, saying the young man had left information on his computer to indicate he may be in distress.

The Citadel will announce more specific funeral plans later this week, and officials say the thoughts and prayers of everyone in the Citadel family are with the Edwards family.
