MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) – Governor Nikki Haley wants answers following The Citadel president's own admission, the school fell short in reporting allegations of sexual misconduct against Louis "Skip" ReVille.

"At the time an incident like this occurs, anyone in a position of authority with information has a responsibility to turn it over to law enforcement. That didn't happen here, which is totally unacceptable, and we need to find out why," Governor Haley said.

The statement comes a few days after Citadel President Lt. Gen. John W. Rosa released documents about a 2007 internal investigation in which a former summer camper accused ReVille of sexual misconduct in 2002.

"We're sorry we didn't pursue it more. We acted on what we thought was our best information and then after the fact, we did not pursue it enough," Lt. Gen. Rosa said Monday.

The president authorized the release of all documents regarding their investigation, which included a nearly 200 page transcript of an interview with the former camper. In it, the camper says ReVille watched pornography with him and other campers in his room.

"Immediately after, I felt completely violated," the camper stated in 2007.

No one has resigned or been fired from The Citadel following the admission Monday. Lt. Gen. Rosa says an independent firm will review The Citadel's policies and procedures and recommend action.
