Lowcountry Leisure: By Ashley Lindquist
After you fill your bellies with turkey and pumpkin pie, what better way to ease into the weekend than with a holiday concert by the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Spiritual Ensemble.
A Spiritual Christmas brings to life African-American spirituals and sacred music with a special holiday theme. The concert boasts special guest Paul Williamson, a Jamaican born tenor now based out of Toronto, for Saturday's performance.
"We are thrilled to have Mr. Williamson share our stage, one of Jamaica's most superb talents. We hope to see many of our area Jamaican friends support Mr. Williamson's first visit to Charleston," says CSO Spiritual Ensemble founding president Lee Pringle, "These performances are a wonderful way for family and friends to come together and celebrate the start of the holiday season."
You'll have two days to catch the show:
•Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Circular Congregational Church on Meeting Street at 7pm
•Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Mt. Zion A.M.E Church at 4pm.
Tickets are available online and at the door.
