SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) - The Legend Oaks Golf Club will hold a special Captain's Choice golf tournament to raise money for 8-year-old snake bite victim, Zach Szala.

Szala was bitten by a poisonous snake just before Thanksgiving at Wannamaker County Park in North Charleston.

Since the bite, Zach has been listed in critical condition. According to his aunt, Ansley Crabtree, he has recently been taken off of a sedative, making his removal from the intensive-care unit more likely. However, he is still nearly paralyzed.

Proceeds from the golf tournament will be used to pay some of Zach's medical expenses.

Here are details for the tournament:

• 4 golfer captain's choice teams
• January 28th
• Shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
• $75 per person
