ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) -- A six month drug investigation nets cocaine, vehicles, weapons and cash.

According to Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell, investigators worked with state and federal authorities in the arrests of six people in Orangeburg and Vance Thursday night.

The arrests include Genaro Vazquez-Torres and Mauricio Hernendez Martinez from Orangeburg, Jessie Collier and Issac Franklin from Holly Hill, Byron Latrel Canty from Santee and Kembe Alajuwon Jamison from Vance.

During the busts, authorities found seven kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $500,000, nine vehicles with a value of approximately $100,000 and $300,000 in cash.

"These individuals were not amateurs. They possessed weapons, body armor, and a machine to compress cocaine. The weapons seized included three SKS rifles, an AK 47, an AR 15, a TEC-9, a high powered rifle with scope, and six pistols of varying calibers," Ravenell said. "These individuals also had ammunition capable of penetrating the bulletproof vests worn by our deputy sheriffs. The vehicles had multiple secret compartments that were packed with cash."

On Sunday Canty, Jamison, and Franklin were each released from jail on $50,000 surety bonds. Vazquez-Torres, Collier and Martinez were given $150,000 bonds, but are currently being held for federal authorities.
