MCCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Highway 17 is back open after lanes were closed for several hours on Monday afternoon.

Officials said the accident at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 45 involved entrapment.

Two medivac helicopters were dispatched.

Southbound lanes of Highway 17 were routed to northbound lanes for about two hours as crews worked the scene.

Major James Brady with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office said the scene was clear at 4:22 p.m. and all lanes had been reopened for traffic.
