Deputies respond to fatal accident on Wadmalaw Island

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was killed Monday night in a one vehicle accident on Wadmalaw Island.

A spokesman for the Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the accident happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Maybank Highway and Rackly Hall Road.

Deputies say only one person was in the vehicle during the accident.

The coroner's office has not yet released the name of the victim.
