CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - For the next several weeks seven endangered sea turtles from the New England Aquarium will be rehabilitated in Charleston.

Six of the turtles are Kemp's Ridleys, the seventh is a hybrid, a Kemp's Ridley Green Sea Turtle. The hybrid turtle will be the first ever of its kind to be treated at the Charleston Sea Turtle Hospital.

Sunday, the turtles were flown from Boston on a private jet donated by Charleston business owner Mason Holland. Each of the sick turtles has been stunned by the cold, after being unable to migrate to warmer water.

Around the clock care will be offered. The South Carolina Aquarium also hopes to use the time to learn more about the hybrid, one of the most rare marine reptiles in the world.
