Grover (Provided)MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV)-- A Berkeley County Sheriff's deputy was hit by a car Tuesday evening.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol was responding to an accident along Highway 17 at Frederick Douglas Ave. in Moncks Corner around 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The Berkeley County Deputy was helping with traffic control when he stopped a Ford Explorer driven by 45-year-old Jeffrey Grover. As the deputy turned to check for oncoming traffic, officials say Grover started moving again and hit the deputy.
The deputy was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Grover was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
