NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Nearly 2,500 people were invited to watch the four GOP presidential candidates go head-to-head Thursday inside the North Charleston Coliseum.

About two hours after the first words, the debate ended with many rushing to their cars to warm up from the 40-degree temperatures.

Ann Sullivan says she drove to the debate from North Carolina and is still undecided about her choice. She did say while she still isn't sure who to vote for, the debate was certainly entertaining.

"I was wondering if they should have issued boxing gloves right off the bat, so they could just duke it out for a while," Sullivan said.

Hugh Russell, a Charleston School of Law student, says even after the debate, he's still on board with his candidate.

"I wavered a little bit, but I think I'm still strong in the candidate I believe is going to do best for the job sector," Russell said.

Denise Merritt, who says she still intends to vote for Newt Gingrich, was a bit disappointed she didn't hear more questions about the economy.

"I didn't get to hear about the debt reduction and that's the big thing that was missing for me," Merritt said.
