VANCE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officers with the Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office are looking for a 33-year-old Summerville man they say was involved in a shooting in Vance on Thursday.
Major Rene Williams with OCSO says when officers arrived at the scene at Peach Shed Road at 10:46 p.m., they found 50-year-old Silas Williams on his stomach, with a gunshot wound. She says investigators believe the man and 31-year-old Demetrice Dwight Perry were arguing when Perry "fired a handgun at the man's abdomen and fled the scene."
"We will investigate and search for anyone in and out of this county for crimes committed here against our citizens," Williams said. "Too often we find where individuals come into our county, commit a crime, and then flee, expecting to escape prosecution. And if you are helping someone hide, after they have committed a crime here, we are coming after you too. We are coming with the full resources of this agency."
If you have any information concerning Perry's whereabouts, you are asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
