The Transport Workers Union Local 514 is urging those in the Tulsa area to show their support of American Airlines jobs through a website.

The union is holding a press conference this afternoon as proceedings continue in American Airlines' bankruptcy.

American Airlines filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on November 29th. Chairman and CEO Gerard Arpey resigned and was replaced by Thomas Horton, who warned there would likely be jobs lost.

American has more than six-thousand jobs in Tulsa, most of them being at its maintenance base. Today, union representatives spoke about www.isupportamericanjobs.com, a website where people can pledge their support.

Tulsa's Channel 8 has a reporter at the press conference and will update this story as information is available.
