Identity released of man who fell to his death on cruise ship

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with the Royal Bahamas Police Force have released the identity of a South Carolina man killed from a fall aboard the Carnival Fantasy on Friday.

Chrislyn Skippings, public information officer with the police force said the man has been identified as 26-year-old Walter Bouknight.

Bouknight is from Batesburg-Leesville, S.C., which is in Lexington County.

In a press release issued on Saturday, Carnival Cruise Lines said the man fell from one of the upper levels of the ship's atrium to the lobby level. Carnival's CareTeam is providing the guest's family with support and assistance.

Skippings said the investigation surrounding details of Bouknight's death is ongoing.
