CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- South Carolina residents have until this Sunday, February 5, to receive rebates on new ENERGY STAR qualified appliances.
The rebates stem from the state's remaining portion of the appliance rebate stimulus program.
The program, which started January 27, gives rebates on ENERGY STAR labeled clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators and room air conditioning units (window units). Eligible clothes washers will receive a $100 rebate while dishwashers, refrigerators and room air conditioning units will receive $50 rebates.
"We are excited to offer another rebate program that will not only help South Carolinians purchase new appliances but will also help them save money on their utility bills by upgrading to these more energy efficient products," said director of the S.C. Energy Office, Ashlie Lancaster.
"We also hope this program will remind people to look for the ENERGY STAR label wherever they shop."
Only one rebate per appliance type per household is allowed through this program.
