Arrests made in consignment store burglaries

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with the Mount Pleasant Police Department have announced two females have been arrested in connection to burglaries of two consignment stores that happened last month.

18-year-old Martha D. Leary and 20-year-old Jessica A. Dupree are charged with two counts of burglary in the second degree.

According to police, Leary is a former employee of both businesses and additional arrests are
expected.

The Butterfly Consignment Shop on Long Point Road and Victoria's Consignment Shop on Houston
Northcutt Boulevard were burglarized on January 20th.

Money was taken from the cash drawer at both locations. No merchandise was taken.
