Clothing worn by man found dead off Hwy 301 in Orangeburg
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV)-– Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell has released more details on the body found in a wooded area off Five Chop Road in Orangeburg.
Details include the images of a jacket and basketball shorts that were worn by the black male who was found dead on January 28th. A hunter located the remains off a stretch of Highway 301.
"We believe this individual is between 17 and 21-years-old and was between 5'7" and 5'9," said Ravenell. "He was wearing what we believe is a distinctive jacket, black sweat pants, basketball shorts that were worn under the sweat pants, and camel Timberland boots. We are releasing the photos of the John Blaze jacket that had lettering around the hood 'Cash Rules Everything Around Me' and basketball shorts in an effort to generate new leads as to the individual's identity. Anyone recognizing this jacket or shorts should contact us immediately."
Ravenell says that they have been in contact with several agencies both across the state and out-of-state but have not been able to match the victim with existing missing person reports.
