CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine while out on bond for similar charges.
Officials with the Charleston Police Department say Maurice Malloy, 24, of 36-B South Street was arrested on Wednesday. Investigators say they confiscated 55 grams of cocaine, about 34 grams of cocaine base, two handguns (one reported stolen out of Mount Pleasant), $400 in cash and a bullet-proof vest.
Malloy was out on bond on charges of possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and assault on police while resisting arrest. He has now also been charged with trafficking cocaine base, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a violent felony.
Warrants have also been issued for Darius Malloy, 21, also of 36-B South Street. Darius is Maurice Malloy's brother. Darius Malloy is wanted for trafficking cocaine and possession of a firearm during a violent crime.
