DORCHESTER, S.C. (WCIV)-- The South Carolina Highway Patrol is distributing fliers in hopes that someone in the community knows who may have hit a pedestrian found dead in the median of I-26 last year.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Adam Dwane Harned from the Reevesville area. He was positively identified thru SLED by DNA samples matched with blood from the autopsy.

DOT workers cutting the grass in the median of I-26 between mile marker 177 and 178 found Harned's body around noon on Dec 1, 2011.

The Dorchester County Coroner confirmed the cause of death of the individual was due to skull fractures due being struck by a vehicle.

A spokesperson from the SCHP says they believe the body is that of a man who was dropped off at the Holly Hill exit on November 6th by an unknown woman.

The coroner lists Harned's time of death as Nov. 6, 2011 around 7pm.

If you have any information about this collision or about the vehicle of interest, contact the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 803-531-6855 or 1-800-768-1507, or you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.

Your tip could earn you a cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to the arrest of those responsible.
