CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A spokesman with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office has confirmed a shovel was recovered during search efforts for Dara Lee Watson over the weekend.

Major James Brady said the shovel was recovered near the Halfway Creek Road area where search efforts began on Saturday.

Brady said investigators are currently working to lift any prints or DNA evidence from the shovel.

"We'll test it for anything we can test it for," Maj. Brady said.

Dara Lee Watson was officially listed as missing on Friday afternoon. At a press conference Tuesday, officials said they believe her fiance, David Hedrick was involved in her disappearance.

Hedrick was found dead at his home on Friday afternoon. The Charleston County Coroner's Office confirms he died of what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
