Boater found dead in Stono River identified

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- The Charleston County Coroner's Office has identified the boater  found dead in the waters of Elliot's Cut.

Dr. Charles Kisabeth, 61, was a boating with his son-in-law in the Stono River when their boat capsized around 6:30 Sunday evening.

The cause of death is listed as drowning.

Officials with DNR say the son-in-law made it to shore and called 911 around 7:30 p.m. Dr. Kisabeth was found around 8:30pm.

Coroner Rae Wooten said Kisabeth was a loved and respected pediatrician in the community. He was a doctor with the Parkwood Pediatric Group.
