STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's basketball team advanced to the second round of the WNIT with a 72-51 win over Central Arkansas on Friday in front of 1,324 fans inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.

OSU improved to 17-12 on the year, while the Sugar Bears saw their season end with a 24-7 record.

Despite the Cowgirls hitting 52 percent from the floor in the first half, they were unable to put UCA away in large part due to committing 10 turnovers. OSU hit 15 of its 29 attempts, including six 3-pointers, during the first 20 minutes, but never led by more than five before taking a 36-34 lead into the break.

The Cowgirls opened the second half with an 11-2 run that included five points from freshman Liz Donohoe to extend to a 47-36 lead five minutes into the period. OSU then hit UCA with a 14-2 run fueled by 12 points from junior Toni Young to push the margin to 19 with 6:47 remaining.

OSU shot 49 percent on the night while limiting the Sugar Bears to a 27.8 percent clip from the floor.

Young, who finished with a season-high 22 points and nine rebounds, became the 19th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Donohoe joined Young in double figures with 13 points, while junior Lindsey Keller grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds. Sophomore Tiffany Bias chipped in with nine points and a game-high eight assists.
