CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A sneak peak into South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley's new memoir reveals some new details into the affair of her predecessor and then Governor Mark Sanford.

In Can't is Not an Option, Governor Haley wrote about whispers in 2009 that she was having an affair with Sanford.

Politico received a copy of Governor Haley's book. According to the publication's reports, Haley writes her car was found parked next to Sanford's at the airport in 2009 when Sanford said he was hiking the Appalachian Trail. Haley wrote she was questioned by the press if she was involved with Sanford.

Politico reports Haley wrote the questions made her sick to her stomach.

"They wouldn't be putting a male candidate in the humiliating position of having to explain why his car was parked by chance next to the governor's at the airport," Politico reports Haley wrote. "I couldn't believe this was happening in 2009 in America."

Politico also reports that in the book, Governor Haley called South Carolina politics a "blood sport." The statement, according to the Politico report, refers to published rumors of extra-marital affairs during her gubernatorial campaign involving lobbyist Larry Marchant and political blogger Will Folks.

Can't is Not an Option is set to be released April 3rd.
