CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- If pollen is your enemy, you might want to stay indoors for a while.

A report by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation ranks Charleston 37th among cities in America with the highest number of concerns related to pollen.

So, how did they do it?

According to the report, scores were assigned to cities not just by research of pollen count levels but also by the amount of medication utilized in areas to battle allergies and asthma.

The top-ranking city on the report, Knoxville, Tennessee received a score of 100. All subsequent rankings and scores were percentages of that score.

Charleston's score was 70.71. The national average is 66.36.

Other South Carolina cities making the list include Greenville, ranking at 21 and Columbia, ranking at 27.
