MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- It's almost been six months since former Lowcountry coach Louis "Skip" ReVille ended up behind bars. He was arrested in late October and has been accused of molesting more than 20 young boys.

Since his arrest, ReVille has gone outside the jail for visits to a forensic psychiatrist. Every other week in March he visited the doctor, who is known for his work with sex offenders.

In total since his arrest, Reville's been at the doctor's office four times, all ordered by his attorney, Craig Jones.

Since the investigation remains ongoing, parties involved with the ReVille case are saying very little, as to not jeopardize the case.

Charlie Condon, who is currently a defense attorney and formerly a solicitor provided ABC News 4 with some insight on these types of cases, in a general sense.

"It's a long process and a very challenging process for a defense attorney when someone is charged with multiple sex crimes," Condon said.

Condon says especially for sex crimes, mental evaluations are typical.

"...Sometimes with sex offenders you cant really cure it, but you can control it," he said.

On April 23, 1999, Eddie Fischer, who was convicted of molesting dozens of young boys, told a judge during his sentencing he didn't realize how much he had hurt them. Attorney Gregg Meyers, who represented some of the victims in that case, says Fischer only realized the damage he'd done after he'd started counseling.

For now though, there's no telling whether doctors are trying to help Skip ReVille or simply evaluate him for the case against him.

ReVille remains in Charleston County's jail on more than a $1 million bond. No court dates have been set.
