Colleton sheriff not seeking re-election

WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials with the Colleton County Sheriff's Office say the county's sheriff is not running for re-election.

Chief Deputy Ted Stanfield confirmed Sheriff George Malone met with officers last week and informed them of his decision not to seek another term.

Sheriff Malone had not returned calls from ABC News 4 seeking comment as of 7 p.m. Tuesday.
