CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office is picking up the search for missing woman Gayle McCaffrey in areas of West Ashley Thursday.

The last time they searched this area was over a week ago.

Deputies with the CCSO along with air support, the Charleston County Volunteer Rescue Squad and Charleston County Emergency Management Department staff, will be searching in the area of Hwy 61 and on Bees Ferry Road.

"These searches are not based on any tips but are meant to try and eliminate locations near the area where Mrs. McCaffery went missing and are being conducted along with other ongoing collateral investigations," Major Jim Brady with the CCSO said in a statement.

Crews also searched in an area off Highway 61, in Dorchester County, just past Middleton Place. The area was gated, but investigators spent about four hours there and the county's boat was transported into the area.

Major Brady said Thursday afternoon, nothing had been recovered in the search. Gayle MCaffrey was reported missing by her husband, Bob McCaffrey, on March 18. After several days of searching and interviewing family members and friends the CCSO announced it has a person of interest but will not say who that person is.

Investigators say they currently don't have plans to search Friday.
