You should LOVE the weather this weekend.

Yes, I know it's a little play on tennis words. Forty love or 40 all are both used in the tennis world to describe scores in tennis. It's fitting, considering the fact Daniel Island is once again hosting the Family Circle Cup.

Our weather has surely been up and down for the week with a record high temp at 91 for Monday and ending with highs in the 60s for Friday with showers and thunderstorms.

The Family Circle Cup temperature spreads for the semi-finals and finals have varied greatly over the years since it moved from Hilton Head Island to Daniel Island. (By the way, Charleston, South Carolina was named the top tennis city in the US). From a cool 62 recorded on Sunday, April 17, 2005 to a hot and steamy 91 on Sunday, April 21, 2002, world-class female tennis stars have battled their way through the chill to the afternoon heat and humidity of the Lowcountry to be the prestigious winner of the Family Circle Cup.

If you think that's hot, the players are playing on clay, which adds an additional 10 degrees to the surface heat.

This Saturday delivered one of the best weather days ever for playing on clay, anywhere. By the afternoon, plenty of sunshine along with northerly winds at 10-15 mph took afternoon highs to a mild 70. If you like the Lowcountry sun, then Easter Sunday on Daniel Island will be the place to be with more abundant sunshine. The final match begins at 1 p.m. with live television coverage.

First serve should see a temperature of 70 degrees with plenty of sunshine. Winds will be easy out of the southwest at 5-10 mph. Depending on the length of the match, expect 73 for the afternoon high.

Enjoy your Easter Sunday in the Lowcountry.
