Motorcyclist dead after collision with 18 wheeler, driver charged

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A motorcyclist has died from his injuries when his bike collided with an 18-wheeler.

The coroner identified the victim as 44-year-old Scott Arrington.

North Charleston Police say they responded at around 7:30 a.m. Monday morning to an accident with injuries at Remount Road near Virginia Avenue.

The driver of the 18 wheeler,  47-year-old Louis Hunter Jr. of Sylvania, GA, told police that he exited a parking lot, turning in front of the motorcyclist causing the accident. Police say Arrington was transported from the scene in critical condition.

Hunter has been arrested and charged with reckless homicide.
