CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man accused of beating his 2-year-old, tossing him in a trash can and filling it with concrete has been released from jail on bond.
Roger Williams bonded out of jail in Charleston County on April 6.
On July 6, 2010, Rodricus Williams was reported missing. Officials were told he may have fallen over the railing at the battery. Days later, investigators with multiple law enforcement agencies were led to an area behind a vacant mobile home in Bowman, S.C. (Orangeburg County).
Grace Trotman, the girlfriend of Roger Williams reportedly led investigators to the boy's body. Both were arrested and charged with homicide.
In February, Trotman pleaded guilty in the death of Rodricus Williams on charges of homicide by child abuse and desecration of a body. In pleading guilty, she has agreed to fully disclose what she knows about the boy's death. The information is expected to be used against Roger Williams in the case.
According to Berkeley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Moon, Roger Williams first bonded out of the Berkeley County detention center and then bonded out of jail in Charleston County for lesser charges.
