CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- Lowcountry Komen for the Cure gave a hats-off to breast cancer survivors and co-survivors Sunday afternoon.
The organization held its annual Survivor Celebration and Afternoon Tea at the Charleston Marriott.
To add a bit of spring flair to the event, survivors wore colorful hats. The event gave survivors the opportunity to stand together to share their message of hope.
"One of the really unique things about this celebration is we close the program with a candle lighting ceremony and all our survivors stand with their candles and the room is ablaze with the fire from those survivors," said Lucy Spears, Mission Programs Manager for Lowcountry Susan G. Komen for the Cure. "And it is just incredible an incredible family."
