CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV)-- The man accused of killing his wife in front of his children in their West Ashley home last year was back in court Friday morning.
Chesley Black Jr. is accused of stabbing his wife, Amanda, to death in September in their home on Fife Lane.
A public defender filed a motion for bond reduction on the murder charge last week.
Friday, a judge set bond for the 29 year old at $500 thousand dollars.
According to investigators, during a taped audio recording, Chesley Black confessed to his wife's murder. Officials with the Charleston County Coroner's Office said she bled to death from a stabbing wound to her neck in an area of her home near the entry way and bathroom.
Family members say they learned of her death from Black's 4-year-old daughter, who witnessed the violent event.
Officials have said they believe the incident developed from ongoing domestic violence in the household.
