NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Berkeley County coroner's office says a woman was found dead Saturday morning on an interstate entrance ramp.

Coroner Bill Salisbury says the body of 31-year-old Luh Endang Susiani, from Indonesia was found just before 3:00 a.m. in the area of I-26 and Road 16, also known as Jedburg Road. Autopsy results showed that she died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Around 2:30 p.m. North Charleston police announced that shortly before midnight Saturday, officers responded to 5633-G Dorchester Road in reference to a carjacking.

According to NCPD, the male victim says he and his girlfriend were coming out of the Maytag Laundromat when an unknown black male approached them in the parking lot armed with a pistol and demanded the vehicle.  The police report says the suspect demanded that Susiani drive, but she said that she couldn't so he got in and took the car with her inside.

Police say the suspect then fled the scene in their car, a black 2000 Toyota Camry.  As the investigation/search continued for the victim and vehicle, NCPD was advised that the body of a female subject was found on the on-ramp of the Jedburg exit off Interstate 26.

According to an affidavit, Susiani was shot in the head and back before her body was dumped in Summerville. The affidavit says a witness stated that the suspect told him "he 'had to hit a lick' to get to St. George and that he 'had a body under his belt'."

A short time later,  St. George officers observed the victim's vehicle in the area  but lost sight of it.

Dorchester County Deputies then located the Camry at a club on Mckeen Street in St. George, where a black male was seen running from the car.  The suspect was later taken in to custody in the area of Hudson Road in St.George.

Tyler Brown-Kelly, 28, was taken in to custody and will face the following charges with NCPD: kidnapping, carjacking, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime and attempted armed robbery.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office has charged Kelly with murder.  He was denied bond in court on Monday morning.

The coroner will decide when Susiani's body will be released and sent back to Indonesia for burial.
